The Chichimax Commentaries site is dedicated to my world.  On a professional level, it is a respository of documents and information about who I am and what I do, as well as a presentation of information and viewpoints relevant to my work -- especially in Guatemala -- that I think are important, interesting, or in some sense provocative. 

In personal terms, meanwhile, this page is an expandable written self-portrait of a sort.   It is a chance to beat my own drum, berate sinners and fools, rail about injustices, acknowledge and applaud the wise and beautiful, thank the virtuous, and generally promote my own notions of how the worlds should and shouldn’t be.

The visitor may judge for her/himself whether some or all of these posts are done with too little grace, offensive lack of decorum, shameless immodesty, or pretentious verbosity.  If anybody should desire to respond to anything written or presented here, I welcome comments, and will publish anything apropriate and reasonable.  I may be contacted at
